About The Music… (How such a full sound is generated) All of Siesta John’s music is played in ‘real-time’, as you hear it. NOTHING is pre-recorded. A Yamaha PSR keyboard provides the drums, bass-line, musical style and tempo from it’s 100 embedded musical styles.
Chord changes on the KBD (to match what I’m playing on the guitar) are made in real-time using MIDI foot pedals, which duplicate the lowest octave on the keyboard. What it comes down to is that I am playing the keyboard with my feet. Vocal harmonies are voiced using a second microphone routed through a Digitech Vocalist Performer, a 20+ year old piece of equipment! Music is performed LIVE…Nothing is pre-recorded and covering artists such as; Buffett, Eagles, Zac, Garth, Drifters, and many more.
Live Music for; Parties, Events, HOA’s, Condo Gatherings, Markets…playing songs you like, and songs you forgot you liked!

Best Handmade Ceramics In Siesta Key- Sarasota Florida. We must include Luna-tiques at the top of the list. So how did Lynne Ostroman and Michael Newman create Luna-tiques Ceramics?
They share the following with us.
We began our journey with clay in 2002 when we returned to the USA and Sarasota after 17 years spent in the Dominican Republic and Turks & Caicos Islands. After exploring different artistic pathways though various classes, ceramics became the one we both instantly enjoyed.
Clay has allowed us to express ourselves with our hands and the intimacy of actually touching the material is like no other medium. The clay surface has become our canvas and a way to express our personal impressions of the surrounding environment. How we interpret what we see around us. The 3 dimensional form allow one’s eyes to travel around the shape and one’s hand to feel the surface with all its texture.
We began by taking pottery classes with Ann Darling at her studio in Sarasota. Over the years we studied with a series of teachers and mentors at Penland School of Crafts, NC; La Meridiana, Certaldo, Tuscany, Italy; Greenwich Pottery, NYC; St Pete Clay/Morean Center, St. Petersburg, FL and Ghost Ranch, NM.
Our inspiration comes from tropical island memories, present day life in our home, and studio compound in Osprey, Florida. Living and working on the same patch of land has given us the energy to focus on our work. The sea, the sand, the vegetation, the sky…..they all speak to us. We love mid-century modern design and architecture and those passions also influence our work.
We travel on occasion and try to return to Dominican Republic at least twice a year. Our home studio practice occupies most days as we continue to experiment and evolve. We are full time artists and parents of two Jack Russell Terriers. Our 28 year old daughter is currently working in NYC as costume coordinator on TV series Gotham, as she seeks her dream of being a costume designer.
We have chosen to sell our creations weekly and exclusively at Siesta Key Village Farmers Market. We especially enjoy the interaction with our patrons who come from all over the globe to visit famous Siesta Key. Its quite humbling to know our art lives in faraway places like Iceland, Australia, South Africa, Brazil as well as all over North America and Europe.
Most our pieces are truly one of a kind. We like to refer our work as “Functional Art”. We hope that our pottery has a place in your everyday life and provides a function whether it be only as thing of beauty or an object of daily use.
You can find Lynne and Michael every Sunday at the Siesta Key Farmers Market from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, located at 5104 Ocean Blvd in the Village on the beautiful paradise island of Siesta Key, Florida.

The moisture absorption, dampness release elements and ventilation of bamboo fiber has proved to be best compared to that of other textile products.
The intersecting surface of Bamboo Fiber is filled with various tiny gaps and micro-holes; it has much better moisture absorption and ventilation.
With this unparalleled microstructure, bamboo fiber garments can effectively absorb and evaporate human sweat in a split second, and make the wearer feel cool in summer and never suffocating in winter. Apparel made from bamboo is 1-2 degrees lower in comparison to normal clothing in the hot summer.
Who is Bambooty Bodygear?
Bambooty Bodygear began with a single design concept in 2011, “The Bambooty Original” a neck gator/bandana alternative made from Bamboo Fiber.
Founder R. Joseph Monach designed the “Bambooty Original” out of necessity. The search for a comfortable, utilitarian designed bandana alternative yielded no results. As a runner Joe realized a void in the market existed. Joe created the prototype by cutting and sewing a long underwear top.
While the design for the Bambooty Original worked, the fabric did not. Joe decided to pursue alternative natural fabrics and settled on Bamboo Fiber. The bamboo fiber is soft and luxurious to the touch but also offers a sundry of performance characteristics.
Joe spent the summer of 2012 in Pittsburgh after a nasty divorce. It is here that as fate would have it, Joe met Andrea Meythaler, his current life and business partner. The two found a synergy that translates into what the company has become today but at the time neither had known the evolution to come.
Joe returned to Florida to reconnect with his 3 sons and his mother (saint) who help launch the company with a $500 cash infusion and a house where Joe could re-invent himself and his life.
Joe continued to wait tables at the age of 47 while pursuing the concept of the Bambooty Original. He and his mother spent countless hours researching and developing what would be the basis of the company. Joe established a relationship with a Chinese textile manufacturing company and placed the first order “Bambooty Originals”.
The order arrived 45 days later and created a moment of future clarity. This was to be the direction! The order consisted of 3 colors in this one style which were Black, Pink and White. Joe started taking the product to running events, triathlons and anywhere athletes might be educated about the product.
The combination of the design and the bamboo fiber which aside from being ultra soft is also a natural performance fabric was received with open arms by the community. The black and the pink sold but the white was not moving.
Joe and Andrea continued a 6-month long distance relationship with Skype chats, and frequent travel. Joe is 51 and Andrea is 29 and as unlikely as the pair might appear in the initial meeting of them both, you soon come to see the connection. This connection was not to be denied and soon Andrea moved back to her home state of Florida.
Andrea and Joe are both University educated. Andrea attended Carnegie Mellon University for Fine Arts and Joe attended theIndiana University Of Pa. for Business. Joe’s Mother and the third business partner raised 4 children as a single mother owing her own hair salons for 50 years.
When Andrea arrived and moved into the home with Joe and Rochelle, she immediately started attending the events where the “Bambooty Original” was being sold. She notice the fact the white was not selling as effectively as the other colors and offered to hand dye the white thus creating some color.
Joe and Andrea, his girlfriend, went to Joann Fabric and purchased a dye kit and went to work. This was the beginning of Bambooty Bodygear as it is today. The newly dyed white originals sold out in 1 hour and gave us our first wholesale account with a national running store. Today Bambooty has 26 products in production.
Bambooty has grown in the last several years by taking the initial $500 investment and re-investing over and over and over again. Bambooty Headgear has since evolved to Bambooty Bodygear as we shifted away from offering a line of headgear to a more complete line of Bamboo Fiber Apparel. Our biggest obstacle to date was not having enough product to satisfy our consumer demand.
2017 will begin a partnership with AMAZON and multiple distributors via wholesale agreements and additional market models.
The Best Gourmet Mushrooms on Siesta Key come from The Mushroom Guy, Bill Nelms. Are you looking for an engaging guide through the world of fungi? Then you need to talk with Bill Nelms aka The Mushroom Guy.
Bill sells a variety of gourmet mushrooms, maitake to shiitake, crimini to Portobello, oyster to lobster mushrooms, and morels to chantelles.
Bill brings to the job his experience as a chef in the Philadelphia area, where he once made pasteries for the world-renowned Le Bec Fin Restaurant. He also has worked as a chef in Martha’s Vineyard as well as Fort Meyers Beach, Florida.
When his brother married into a family that had a mushroom company, they ask Bill about selling mushrooms in the Sarasota area. That opportunity turned Nelms into a fungi whiz. “I researched and found out how good these mushrooms are,” he says.
And by good, Nelms means from a gourmet standpoint as well as nutritional and medicinal value. First, some of the mushrooms offer tastes you wouldn’t expect, such as the lobster taste of the lobster mushroom and the steak like taste of the maitake (also known as Hen of the Woods)
Then there are the health benefits. The maitake is used by some to treat cancer, as is the chaga mushroom tea he sells. “Chaga tea is one of our best sellers,” Nelms says. People report that the tea has helped them sleep better, given them more energy, and aided with digestive issues.
The majority of the mushrooms Nelms sells are grown indoors at a facility in Fort Pierce, Florida. However, Nelms also carries morels, which are foraged in the wild, as well as lobster mushrooms, which are shipped overnight from the state of Washington. The lobster mushroom variety sells out quickly at the markets, Nelms explains. The cremini is popular as well.
Some people resist eating mushrooms because they know only the bland white variety from supermarkets. However, those mushrooms are usually wrapped in plastic, killing their taste. Nelms explains. It is better to get them fresh and uncovered.
It is also important to know how to cook them. Nelms favors roasted mushrooms, evenly cut and with just a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar, for 20 minutes in a 375 degree F oven. He also conjures up mouth watering images of mushroom bisque soup, Portobello mushrooms, stuffed with crab imperial, topped with raspberry jam and horseradish. He encourages customers to cook their mushrooms to get full nutritional benefits.

Complete Holistic Approach To Food and Nutrition
We’ve mastered the art of phytochemistry (the rejuvenating benefits of plants). By studying the ancient arts of Chinese medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, Amazonian herbs, the shamanic healing arts of Native Americans and other traditional aboriginal practices, we’ve captured the most potent whole food plant extracts from around the globe to repair your body at the cellular level. These herbs have been revered for thousands of years for their purported ability to support the naturopathic principle that “the human body is capable of creating and supporting perfect health if given the proper tools.
Even though artificial ingredients are often times cheaper, we NEVER take shortcuts. All products are plant based and nutrient dense and will NEVER have: Artificial colors, Artificial sweeteners, Artificial flavors, Excipients and fillers, Excess sugar, Excess fat. In the end it’s the loyal customers who come back – week after week, year after year – that shows the life changing power of these Superfoods.

One of our vendors, Jeanne Heere has an incredible talent.Jeanne calls her business “Little Piece of Paradise.” She searches for sea shells on our sugar white sand beaches of Siesta Key and recreates beautiful art. Jeanne moved to Sarasota in 1981 and fell in love with the beach and began looking for shells. She first started doing shell mirrors in the early 80’s and sold by word of mouth.
In 2012 Jeanne gave up the corporate world and was looking for a less stressful life and started doing shell crafts again. She found the Siesta Key market a perfect place to market her artwork since all the shells are hand picked from the local beaches.
Each item is handcrafted with shells Jeanne finds herself on Siesta key. She has a wide variety of hand crafted art pieces for you to enjoy! Her creations include mirrors, frames, wooden crosses, driftwood crosses, bikini star magnets, nite lights, treasure bottles, wine glass charms, lamp finials, fan pulls, and letters and other hand crafted shell treasures. Custom orders are also available!!
What about this Shell-Rimmed Mirrors?
Perhaps the only thing more beautiful than a single shell is a collection of them. To balance the composition of this heavily adorned mirror and simplify the process of arranging the shells, work in layers. I arrange the largest shells on the mirror frame first, then, working from largest to smallest, fit shells into the remaining spaces until the frame is covered.
Jeanne first, group the shells by size. Position the largest shells at even intervals around the frame, then fill in with the next smallest shells. One at a time, pick up each shell and glue it down. Layer on smaller shells until even the tiniest areas are covered.
You can find Jeanne Heere seashell art every Sunday at the Siesta Key Farmers Market from 8:00am to 1:00pm located in the Siesta Key Village at 5104 Ocean Blvd. Stop by and say hello. There are many vendors and live music for your listening enjoyment. Have breakfast on the island, visit the Siesta Key Farmers Market and then head to our voted #1 beach to enjoy your day.
Wood Artwork On Siesta Key, Florida. Growing up in New York I first fell in love with the world of artworks through my first art teacher opening my eyes to the world of abstract art. Once I was introduced to Dali and Escher I knew I wanted to be an artist but I need to be unique.
I really first started with graffiti and designing labels for clothing or music album covers and car decals but this was just a taste of what’s to come.
I knew I wanted to leave the dreary over cast weathers of NY so the second day after I graduated high school I started my epic journey down south with only $500 and a dog and ended up in Sarasota. As soon as I put my feet in siesta sand I knew I was home and instantly fell in love with it’s environment. Soon after I started to find my new ways of artwork.
I started with palm tree carvings, personalized calligraphy, and even airbrush but it was a Halloween weekend when I was doing my favorite thing, pumpkin carving, when I thought I can do this with wood! I have ALWAYS been fascinated by woods and how they age and their maneuverability ever since a kid and when I realized I can work with both ideas I couldn’t sleep the same anymore. Endless ideas started rolling and I made my first artwork for my little boys room which might still be my favorite.
For the past two years I have been practicing my craft at home to finally have the product you see today. As I mentioned in the beginning I always try to stay unique and each artwork is one of a kind in many ways. Each one is a one of one due to the reclaimed woods I use.
Each wood will have many imperfections and knots/dents due to their source. Many of my woods are pallets and those have so many stories to begin with. My process starts with tracking down my woods and then the tedious process and breaking them apart and then a lot of sanding. Lots !!
Once I’m done with my sketching of the image I then do my cutting one board at a time with an array of blades for detail and then put everything back together like a puzzle. Once it’s all arranged and to my liking I begin my paint/stain process I have created. I use a large array of paints and use an even larger collection of stains to create a stunning creation on wood. I try to create a wood look that mimics rare woods like rainbow eucalyptus or magnolia but even cooler. Steller Wood!
I then finish them off with the ultimate coolest finishing touch, accent all of my art works with battery powered LED lights and remote-controlled. It gives the artworks a second dimension at night. Being that it’s battery powered you can hang these anywhere! No wires or outlet to find. The remote has 8 modes and even a timer as well.
Most of my artworks are sea life inspired simply because I love boating and doing them and also it is very popular down here but half of my work are custom orders. From team logos to businesses the material is truly endless. I’m proud to say I have artworks scattered across almost half of our nation now. For me there’s still nothing more awesome to see your artwork hanging on their wall and they love it.
I am living and working here in Sarasota with my amazing wife and my 3 year old boy Camden and our family dog Angus. We’re also expecting another baby boy in September! We also both work at The Cottage on Siesta Key where we get to meet people from all over and it’s a great field for me to showcase my artworks at the bar I bartend at. Like bartending at your own art gallery. Not bad!
You can find me and my “Wood Artwork” every Sunday at the Siesta Key Farmers Market from 8am to 1pm located in the Village at 5104 Ocean Blvd. My websitewww.stellerartworks.com
Where To Buy The Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil On Siesta Key? Welcome to Olive Branch and more, a different way to taste Italy! My name is Pino and my family and I moved from Italy to Sarasota in 2012. We’ve been doing various farmers markets since 2012 in the Sarasota,Tampa, and Fort Myers area.
My family and I return every summer to our region Puglia, Italy where we come from, to ensure the quality of our superior Extra Virgin Olive Oil. In the great Castel del Monte area, in the centre of Italian Mezzogiorno, the tradition of a family keeps going on: their deep love and care for olive trees is vital for the production of “green gold”, the extra virgin olive oil, a natural product created on the red soil of Apulian Murgia, thanks to the shining sun and the preservation of the stone, ancient secret of former times. After over one century, in order to continue an old tradition that is still alive, several generations defended and protected Tenuta Levante oil mills.
From tradition to innovation, going through the quality certification of the Apulian “green gold” cultivation and production entire process: the refined extra virgin oil. All of our oil is made using hand selected olives for the first cold pressing. We only use one kind of olive, the Coratina Olive, which is typical of our area, and it s full of antioxidants and polyphenols; our olive oil is not blended, it’s monivarietal and does not burn at high temperatures.
In addition to our oils, we offer six different varieties of balsamic vinegars from Modena. We also offer a variety of delicious spreads, made in Abruzzi, a region in the South of Italy, and three mixed Spice packs: Spicy Garlic, Garlic Rosemary, and Tuscan Pesto.
In addition, we sell Rustic Bread, baked by a local bakery. Most of our breads are vegan, and they all are natural, GMO free and no preservatives. We love to talk food with our customers and having all these products gives us the possibility to suggest, teach and improve our customers cooking skills.
I have attended a five year cooking school in Italy, and I love to share my recipes, witch we offer with many of our items.
